Los Bastardos Charlatanes

Formados en 1989, estos muchachos siempre han estado en la escena musical independiente del Reino Unido, y generalmente se "llega" a ellos a través de bandas como Stone Roses, Happy Mondays o incluso a través del Brit pop de Oasis y Blur, es decir, de grupos con un éxito comercial considerable.

Oriundos de Northwich, Cheshire (un condado al noroeste de Inglaterra), debutaron en 1990 con el disco Some Friendly, que contenía el tema The Only One I Know, su excelente carta de presentación.

En ocasiones, debieron agregarle a su nombre la palabra "UK" para diferenciarse de The Charlatans estadounidenses, una banda de rock psicodélico de los 60's.

Luego de casi 20 años de carrera, siguen en actividad y con el mismo cantante a la cabeza, Tim Burguess.

En marzo de este año, editaron su décimo álbum de estudio, You Cross My Path, cuyo segundo sencillo es el que ilustra la entrada de hoy.

The Misbegotten (El Bastardo) es una canción que nos lleva nuevamente a los orígenes de la banda, y nos remite tanto a los Stone Roses, con sus inconfundibles teclados, como al bajo de Peter Hook de New Order, es decir... bastante Madchester.
